Craft Projects

What can I say? I'm a big kid when it comes to Christmas.  I always have been! I love the lights, the colors, the music, and the true meaning of the holiday.  I know, I know...Jesus wasn't born on December 25th, but the point is that we celebrate it on that day and what's the most important thing is that we do celebrate HIM and His birth.  I also married a man who was born on Christmas Day, so go figure :)

I learned how to crochet when I was just a little girl.  My next door neighbor, Mrs. Sowash, taught me how. I started out with chain stitches and was thrilled when I figured out how to move up to a second row :) Then I moved on to Barbie doll clothes and have crocheted on and off since then.

My husband and I work on most of the yard art together.  I'm fairly handy with a jigsaw, so I design it in my computer graphics program then transfer the image to the wood and cut it out.  My husband sands it and puts the hardware on it once I've painted it.

My husband and I work on making corn hole game sets together.  He and I cut and construct the set and sand it (though I try to let him do most of the sanding as it's my least favorite part :) ), then I do the paint work.  Living in Ohio, we really only do these from mid spring to early autumn as we do the corn hole games in our garage.  I sew the corn bags myself too.
